MISSION STATEMENT
"Guiding students to maximize their potential!"
The South-Doyle High School Counseling Program will provide comprehensive,
developmental counseling that addresses the academic, career and personal/social
development of all students so that they become productive members of society.
The services provided through the Guidance Department include: individual counseling, small and large group guidance, freshman orientation, new student orientation, scheduling, assistance with post-secondary education, career development, college information (scholarships, financial aid, vocational programs, colleges, application processes, and other), and testing. The counselors work as a team in cooperation with faculty, administration, support staff, parents, and community volunteers to provide these services.
One service of the guidance department is the College and Career Center. Recognized as one of the most successful college admissions and scholarship programs in this area, the center offers guidance in all aspects of preparation for college. South-Doyle High is a test center for all test dates except February. The high school code is 431098; the test center code is 184890 Tutoring OpportunitiesEnglish Tutoring is available with Mrs. Walsh in room 932 on the Young Campus at these times: Delayed start Wednesdays, from 8:00 until 8:50; December/May Wednesdays, from 7:30 until 8:15; Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 7:30 until 8:15
